Common questions

I bought Anchor Pro but lost my licence key

Email us from the address you paid with and we'll look up your purchase and send the key again. The key is also shown on the confirmation page right after payment — if that tab is still open, it's there.

Can I unlock early, before my commitment ends?

That depends on the safeguard you chose when you started. If a one-time unlock code was emailed to a trusted friend, ask them for it — and expect them to ask why first, which is the point. If you chose a backup email, the code is sitting in that inbox. If you chose a memorable sentence, type it in; only the words matter, not capitals, punctuation or their order. If you chose hard mode, there's no code at all: the commitment runs until it ends.

We can't unlock a commitment for you. Anchor holds nothing about your settings on our servers, and being able to talk us into an unlock would defeat the entire purpose of the lock.

An ordinary image got blurred, or something explicit slipped through

The image filter is an AI model running on your own device, and no filter is perfect — it can be over-cautious on stylised art and occasionally miss something it shouldn't. Send us the page it happened on and we'll tune it. Reports like this are the main way the filter improves.

Does Anchor still work with a VPN?

Yes. Anchor filters inside the browser itself, before requests leave it, so a VPN doesn't create a loophole — unlike router or DNS-based blockers, which a VPN bypasses completely.

What Anchor can't cover is a different browser or device. If that's a real temptation, install Anchor there too.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Anchor's settings, go to Anchor ProLicence & billing, and press Cancel subscription. You'll see exactly what happens before you confirm. That's the whole process — no email, no sign-in link.

You can also cancel from the Stripe billing portal if you prefer, which is also where invoices and card changes live.

Not sure which address you paid with? Open Anchor's settings and look under Anchor Pro — the billing section shows it. It's also on the confirmation page you saw right after paying. Worth checking first: Stripe won't tell you when an address is wrong, it simply sends nothing.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Pro keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for, and Anchor's free features carry on working after that — nothing gets blocked or deleted.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days. If you bought Anchor Pro in the last 14 days and want a refund, email anchorcommitsupport@gmail.com from the address you paid with and we'll refund you in full — no reason needed.

After 14 days, purchases are non-refundable, though you can cancel at any time to stop the next renewal. Anchor is free to install and use first, so you can confirm it works for you before buying anything. Full terms are in the licence agreement.

How do I remove Anchor?

Uninstall it from your browser's extensions page like any other extension. Note that if a commitment is running and you chose an accountability contact, removing Anchor opens a pre-written email letting them know — that safeguard exists because you asked for it.

What data does Anchor collect?

None. No account, no analytics, no tracking. Blocking decisions and image checks happen on your device, and your settings never leave it. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
