Terms of Use & License Agreement
Anchor — Porn Blocker · Last updated: August 17, 2026
This Agreement is between you and the developer of Anchor — Porn Blocker ("Anchor", "we", "us"). By installing or using Anchor, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use it.
1. Licence granted
Anchor is licensed to you, not sold. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Anchor on browsers you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Who may use Anchor
Anchor is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase Anchor Pro. The free extension may be used by anyone old enough to agree to these terms in their own country, or with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Anchor for Windows (the desktop app)
Anchor for Windows is an optional, separate download. It is covered by these terms, and additionally by the End User Licence Agreement shown to you by its installer, which you must accept before anything is installed. That agreement describes in detail what the app changes on your computer — your DNS settings, Windows enterprise policy for your browsers, two scheduled tasks, and a local read of the Anchor extension's own saved data so the app can see your commitment. If anything in that installer agreement conflicts with these terms, these terms govern.
Two consequences deserve stating here as well as there. First, the app changes settings that affect every program on the computer, not only your browsers. Second, once the app has seen a commitment you started in the extension, it holds that commitment itself — so removing the extension, clearing your browser data, switching browser profiles or uninstalling the browser will not end it, and neither the app nor the extension can be removed until the period you chose has finished. That is the intended behaviour of the product and not a defect.
Do not install the app on a computer you do not control, on a shared or family computer without telling the people who use it, or on a computer you rely on for work, study, medical or safety-critical purposes that Anchor's blocking might interfere with.
2. What you may not do
- Copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, or rent Anchor or any part of it.
- Modify, decompile, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Anchor, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Remove or obscure any copyright, branding, or attribution notices.
- Share, publish, or resell an Anchor Pro licence key, or attempt to generate, forge, or circumvent licence keys or payment.
- Use Anchor to break the law, or to restrict or monitor another person's browsing without their knowledge and consent.
3. Anchor Pro and payment
Anchor's core protection is free. Anchor Pro is optional and is sold two ways, and both unlock exactly the same features:
- an annual subscription costing £7.99 per year, which renews automatically each year and is charged to your payment method on the renewal date until you cancel; or
- a one-time payment of £24.99 for lifetime access, which does not renew, is never charged again, and has nothing to cancel.
On the subscription there is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. You can cancel at any time — in two taps inside Anchor's settings, or from the Stripe billing portal — and access continues to the end of the period already paid for. Anyone who purchased Anchor Pro as a one-time payment before it moved to a subscription also keeps lifetime access to Pro at no further cost. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details. After payment you receive a licence key which activates Pro.
Licence key
Your key is personal to you. It is your proof of purchase — keep it safe. Keys found to be shared publicly or used fraudulently may be deactivated.
Cancelling and refunds
14-day cooling-off period. You may cancel your Anchor Pro purchase for any reason within 14 days of buying it and receive a full refund. Email anchorcommitsupport@gmail.com from the address you paid with. We aim to process refunds within 14 days of being notified.
After the 14-day period, purchases are non-refundable. Cancelling stops the next renewal: Pro continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and Anchor's free features carry on working afterwards. There is no cancellation fee.
Anchor is free to install and use before you buy, so you can confirm it works on your setup and suits your needs first.
Nothing in this section affects rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country that cannot be waived by agreement.
4. What Anchor is — and is not
Anchor is a self-control and content-filtering tool. It is not a medical device, therapy, or treatment, and it does not provide medical or psychological advice. If you are struggling, please speak with a qualified doctor or therapist.
No content filter is perfect. Anchor uses blocklists, heuristics, and an on-device AI model, all of which can make mistakes: some unwanted content may get through, and some harmless content may be blocked or blurred. Anchor also cannot control other browsers, devices, apps, or accounts. You remain responsible for your own choices and for how you use the software.
5. Availability of online features
Certain optional features rely on our website and third-party services — licence verification, subscription cancellation, emailing an unlock code to a chosen contact, feedback delivery, and the featured video. These may be changed, interrupted, or discontinued. Core blocking works offline and on your device.
6. Your content
Notes, journal entries, block lists, and statistics you create in Anchor are yours and are stored on your device. We claim no ownership of them. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
7. Ownership
Anchor, its name, branding, design, and code are owned by the developer and protected by copyright. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved. Third-party components remain the property of their respective owners (see section 11).
8. Warranty disclaimer
Anchor is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use Anchor at your own risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or content that Anchor failed to block. This includes loss of internet connectivity or network problems on a computer where Anchor is installed, being unable to reach a site or service you needed, and being unable to remove Anchor during a commitment period you chose.
In no event shall our total liability for any claim relating to Anchor exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £50.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, this Agreement does not affect your statutory rights, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Your responsibility for how you use Anchor
You are responsible for the consequences of installing Anchor on a particular computer. That includes deciding whether its blocking is appropriate for a machine used for work, study, medical or safety-critical purposes, and telling anyone else who uses that computer before you install it.
If someone else brings a claim against us because of how you used Anchor — installing it on a computer you did not have the right to change, using it in breach of these terms or of the law, or blocking access to something that was not yours to block — you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses in dealing with that claim.
This does not apply to claims arising from our own breach of these terms, our negligence, or anything we are not permitted to exclude. If you are a consumer, it does not affect your statutory rights, and it applies only to claims that are genuinely caused by your own use of Anchor.
11. Termination
This licence ends if you stop using Anchor or if you breach these terms. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the extension. Sections 7 through 9 survive termination.
12. Third-party components
Anchor includes open-source software, used under their respective licences and remaining the property of their authors:
- TensorFlow.js — © Google LLC, Apache License 2.0.
- NSFWJS — © Infinite Red, Inc., MIT License. Used for on-device image classification.
- Fraunces, Inter, IBM Plex Mono — SIL Open Font License 1.1.
The featured video on Anchor's "Why this matters" page is the property of its creator, embedded with attribution via YouTube. Anchor claims no ownership of it.
13. Changes to this Agreement
We may update these terms. The current version will always be posted at this address with the date above. Continuing to use Anchor after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes consumer protections you are guaranteed in your country of residence.
15. Who you are contracting with
Anchor is operated by Levi Scheiner, a sole trader based in London, United Kingdom, trading as Anchor. A full postal address is available on request by email and is provided on any invoice.
Questions about this Agreement, refunds, or anything else: anchorcommitsupport@gmail.com. We aim to reply within a few days.
If you are an EU or UK consumer and we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme or your local consumer advice service. This does not affect your right to take legal action.
